Suicides at the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge

There's been a rash of suicides (4 since April) from the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge:

I especially "like" the last paragraph of the article:

"Transportation department officials decided there was no effective deterrent to stop people from jumping from the bridge."
Really?

Review of "Golden Gate"

It's a review of a new book about the Golden Gate Bridge by Kevin Starr and I'm glad to see that there's mention of the fact that it's a suicide magnet.

Nice! Not nice, obviously, that these suicides occur, but nice that this fact isn't ignored.
