Tomorrow, on Wednesday (and I'm having the hardest time typing that word), John Brooks, Casey's father (she took her life on that bridge in January of this year) will be on Dr. Phil along with Eric Steele, film maker ("The Bridge") and Thomas Joiner, psychologist and author. Obviously, it's going to be about that bridge.
I just finished a book by Thomas Joiner and I'm interested in what he has to say. I didn't agree with everything he wrote and I have mixed feelings about what he'll say tomorrow.
Yes, I know the board approved the net as a suicide barrier but until construction actually starts, I'm sort of holding my breath. Well, not really, more mentally than physically.

I'm going to do my best to watch this. I work from home and have a tv in my office, only problem will be if I'm on a conference call at the same time, I'll have to mute the TV.
I hope it's a good, informative show
Hi Doris.. wondering how you're doing today. I watched the show, I caught on the evening run since I didn't get a break from work.
Some really raw emotion and so hard to watch at times, the pain on the faces of the loved ones, especially the parents of the teen girl. I found myself becoming more emotional that I thought I would.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention
I came to your blog through blog giveaways and read this post. I told my friend (who lost her daughter a year ago to suicide) and was able to watch the last half of the show myself. Thank you for blogging about it.
I didn't get to see your post in time to catch the program.
When I get home tonight I am going to check the website and pick up some info there.
It was a very emotional show, wasn't it? I watched most of it, especially the sections with Erika & John Brooks. So sad, so needless, so painful.
Chelsey, you are welcome.
Katie, email me. I can help .....
I watched it last night. I thought it was interesting how Dr. Phil used the Bridge movie really only to bring in people who had friends/kids die. He says some things about the movie in a disapproving tone, but never actually says it's bad.
He was using the parents and friends as a way to get out the clues to watch for, and the things people who are thinking of killing themselves should know.
He worked up their grief to get a better program, which is rude.
