Second verse ....

This should really be: second version because it is. I fiddled a bit with the dimensions of the bag and still could not manage to cut it from just 1/2 yard of fabric. I think fabric isn't as wide as it used to be (just like Kleenexes are smaller and the boxes contain fewer sheets than they used to).
Anyway, back to the bag .......... it's a bit narrower than the original and I did manage to cut 2 bags out of one yard, but only by cutting off bits here and there. Of course, I miscut the second one (yet to be sewn) but it'll be okay. No major disaster.
I used one of the decorative stitches on my machine to stitch along the top of the outside pocket. Cute, huh?
I love this fabric, this may just be my summer bag for this year. Yeah, right, as if I could ever settle on one.

A little heart stitch! Back when I had a sewing machine, it had some curve stitches, but nothing else.

Your bag matches your mailbox!

Machines have changed - and not necessarily for the better. I would so like to have a basic machine, no fancy stitches, but I do love my needle up or down feature. And that's something you only get in a computerized machine. Compromises, ya know?
